Flying Toys

Another Planet has a good choice of flying things, from the Roomerang, an indoor boomerang that you could sit on the couch and throw all day, to the Aerobie. The Aerobie is in the Guinness book of records in the longest throw category, with a mighty 1,257 feet, so you can get fit chasing that around. I've personally thrown one the length of two football fields, and caught it at the same distance, so any idiot can do it.

We've got the classic Frisbee, which is a good gift if anyone you know is travelling overseas. They're a good way of entertaining yourself and other people, and they also make an ideal plate if you're camping. Aerobie also make a similar disc with a slightly different lip, for straight, stable throws, but for the latest spin on an old idea, see our amazing Eye-fo. It's a flying disc that you can program to display a message in red LEDs, of up to 12 characters. Another neat thing is the X-zylo, a short tube you throw like a ball, and can travel up to 600 feet. You have to see it to believe it.

IT'S NOT ROCKET SCIENCE

Ummm, actually, it is. We've got the Rokit in stock, a kit that converts an ordinary plastic soft drink bottle to into a water powered rocket, capable of blasting 70-80 feet into the atmosphere. All you need to do is fill the bottle ¼ full with water, pump it with a bike pump, and it automatically launches when it reaches the right pressure. For extra laughs, get someone else to try it with the Rokit in a mud puddle.

Another popular item is the Stomp Rocket. This is a smaller rocket, but it goes up to 400 feet, and is powered by jumping on the launch pad. A blast of air launches the rocket, or you can get 'copter rockets, gliding rockets or parachute rockets for variety.
